Our team has extensive experience in helping schools to engage in a variety of activities that reward and inspire young people to excel in STEM subjects. If you would like to be involved in any of the following Award Schemes, please contact us: 01785 895400, to arrange a school visit.

CREST Star Investigators (5-12 yrs)

Developed by the British Science Association, CREST STAR Investigators is a UK-wide award scheme that enables pupils to solve scientific problems through practical investigation. The activities focus on thinking about, talking about, and applying science. They provide a progression in scientific thinking and practical work to provide a firm foundation. The activities are used in class to support the curriculum and or as extra curricular activities. The delivery structure is extremely flexible and some schools use the scheme to provide transition units of work part completed in the primary school and part in the partner high school. CREST Star Investigators offers three awards: Star, SuperStar and MegaStar. Children are also offered the opportunity to become Young Science Ambassadors (YSAs).

In Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, we provide twilight workshops for staff and support a range of investigations by providing consumable resources needed to carry out the experiments.

CREST Award (11-19 yrs)

CREativity in Science and Technology

CREST is Britain’s largest national award scheme for project work in the STEM subjects. It gives young people aged 11 to 19 opportunities to explore real world projects in an exciting way. CREST links closely to the curriculum and is a great way to make STEM creative and engaging - both in and out of the classroom.

Benefits for Students:

A CREST award offers tangible recognition of success. They can be included in personal records of achievement, and used to enhance applications to universities, colleges and potential employers.

CREST Awards are Extremely Flexible:

The awards can link into work experience placements, after school clubs or several linked schemes. Some projects might be done in one day, others over several months. Students can investigate or design and make, research a subject or design a science communication project.

Three Levels of Awards
