Inspiring Tomorrow's Generation
Staffordshire STEM Centre is a non profit-making organisation providing enrichment and enhancement programmes that complement the STEM curriculum. We design and deliver an evolving range of innovative activities for schools and colleges that reflect changes in Society and the Future Skills Agenda.
We work closely with local industry and national educational organisations to keep our activities relevant, and to support learners through their progression into the world of work.
We also manage a wide range of national schemes developed to meet the needs and interests of young people such as Crest Awards, STEM Ambassadors and the Digital Hub.
MissionOur mission is to inspire learners and add value to the work schools do in delivering the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) curriculum. We concentrate on matching what we do to curriculum need to help reduce the burden of delivery for practitioners. Our main aim is to improve learner achievement by increasing engagement and providing experiences that add interest, relevance and depth. To do this, we aim to increase awareness of STEM in Further and Higher Education to widen career opportunities.
ObjectivesOne of our objectives is to increase the number of schools, colleges and companies we work with each year in order to have a greater impact on skills improvement. We work hard to exceed expectations by delivering innovative resources and activities that enhance the learner experience.
Staffordshire STEM Centre is contracted by STEMNET to deliver Brokerage Services and manage the STEM Ambassadors Scheme throughout Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Our experienced team offers consultancy in education and training to leading organisations including SSAT, RSLC, Staffordshire University, Keele University, LSN and Ofqual. We are host to the ‘Digital Hub’ Centre for DATA offering training in CAD/CAM and Electronics. Why Work With Us?
All our staff and STEM Ambassadors are CRB checked. We are enthusiastic about promoting STEM subjects to maintain the UK's position as a leader in research and development.
Looking AheadWe are working on developing new and innovative programmes that will support practitioners in adopting applied and independent learning into their teaching and learning strategies. The activities will reflect the changing skills needs of Society, specifically in the areas of alternative energy and sustainability.
